I miss you already!!

Dear Future 6th Graders,

We have had a truly wonderful year full of memories.  You have grown in so many ways and I am so proud of all of you.

Thank you and your wonderful families for EVERYTHING that was done for me this year. You did too much but it was and always will be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

You may email me at phayward@stmichael.net and keep me posted on your summer activities.  I will return your email and keep you posted on my relaxing summer activities; which will center on reading many books, swimming by the pool, and traveling to Vermont.

There is no other way to express my feelings except to smile and say Thank You!  This was a fantastic year.

Heritage Night, Presentations, and Art Expo! What an amazing WEEK!

Wow, it’s difficult to believe that the school year is almost over.

Art Expo is this Friday beginning at 5:30 p.m.  There will be food trucks and adult beverages.  Come and see the wonderful artwork your child has created this year.  Also, A HUGE THANK YOU to Haley Ochoa, Vania Lewis, Jerry Graham, and Elisabeth Monsma for assisting in the 5th Grade Art Expo project.  Thank you for your time and effort in creating something unique for 5th Graders!  I can’t wait for parents to see it Friday night in person.

I also want to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to all my parents for making this year special.  As a team, you have made our year a success. Your dedication to your child and their academic achievements does not go unnoticed.  Thanks for all you do!

Lots going on this week…. 5/13 – 5/15

HERITAGE NIGHT IS TUESDAY, 5:30 – 6:30 PM (bring a water bottle please)

Students come with their food to share. The boards will be set up and ready. Students need to dress up nicely or come in school uniform. If they have something to wear from their country they are more than welcome to dress up in that.

There will be 32 countries represented and food tastings from each. We expect about 50 + guests.

Students are responsible for their food and things to serve their food to their guests. I suggest things like paper cupcake holders, small napkins, and toothpicks. We strongly recommend you bring a bottle of water, please.

This week in class students will be giving their formal presentations (with index cards) to their classmates. This is what they have been practicing at home daily this past week so I can’t wait to hear them present their heritage reports.

Great job on your Student of the Week Shay!
